Random Ones

Just throwing up some random nail art from the last few weeks, not much else to say but I took pictures of them so I figured I'd share em, even if they're not the best.... I'd have to research every color used, so I wont list em, but I can find out if anybody ever wanted to know, as if there's a million people lookin at this blog...

Pink, Gold and White.
Inspired from some nail art I saw on FuckYeahNailArt tumblr, couldn't find the original source- but this is my take on it, super pretty colors together, I luv gold polish and with the pink- so girly.

 Gold, Black and Glitter Cheetah
I wish I'd taken more photos of these guys, they came out pretty well.
I got a little carried away with the glitter, and maybe a little confused as far as cheetah vs leopard print.
Either way, they were fun, and great practice with striper brush.

Light and Dark Pink Cheetah (or leopard?)
-still confused hahaa-
Another bad quality photo by Anna.

First day of school nails, very well received, ok well maybe only my new communications professor actually said something but I knew everyone was lovin' em! ;) Unfortunately I used a crappy top coat that smeared and totally cracked the design by day 2 :(

Pink Ombre

1st Successful Ombre Nails!

The right hand was tricky.
A little messy still.

I've practiced the ombre/gradient look before, but hadn't found the right color combos or technique that worked for me until now. I've tried multiple tutorials online, The Nailasaurus has a great one, but I found the makeup sponge to be messy and time consuming, though does give great results, if you practice it enough.
So I randomly grabbed some colors I hadn't used in awhile:

My longtime favorite Classic Coral Creme, is a sparkly bright pink with an almost sheer finish. I love it! I'm pretty sure I've never used the purple one before, but it's light, sparkly and blended perfectly with NYC's Wall Street, a creamy light pink.  I used a dotting tool for the dots on the accent nails.

Considering I wasn't even planning on doing a gradient look, and only had a limited time to get em done, (happy hr ends at 6,) I think they came out quite well. Oh and btw I did most of my right hand while driving (a stick shift) to Chevy's- Now that's talent. Oh yeah I topped these off with a glittery top coat- Wet n Wild's Hallucination, which actually came off a little chunky and thick, if I'd had more time, I would've searched for an easier to apply glittery finish. This one's gotta be a few years old, and could use some thinner but it did the job. I will say this again, bad photo quality I KNOW, I suck. One day, I will use a real camera! hahaa

More old Mani's

Oldies but goodies...
Pinks, Glitters, freehand stripes & dots

Purple manicure. Not a big purple fan.

I went through a pink and glitter phase for quite awhile.

San Francisco 49ers nails!

So plain!

Oldies

I have been so lazy about painting my nails, it's despicable the way my nails look right now- chipped neon pink on one hand and a few sparkles on the other hand that I have been picking at for the last two nights... pretty ugly.
Since I haven't done anything new in awhile, I just decided to upload some old mani's I had posted on my Face Book page. Please forgive once again the bad photo quality of these.. and I promise to use a real camera next time I post!

Bubble Gum Pink tips with glittery half-moons.
Obnoxiously Bright.
Pink!
Free-hand mani and a rhinestone decals.

More Glitter!

Really wanted to do something "Springy", but ended up going a  little "Blingy" instead!

Indoors. (Still haven't gotten around to using a real camera) Love that they look so tinfoil-silver like, and not purely glittery. I bet this would look cool over a black or darker polish.

Outdoors in the shade, iPhone camera couldn't focus on it in the sunshine, too sparkly!

For these nails I used the 2 bottles on the left : NYC's "Tribeca Silver" for the base coat.  I love how this polish dries super quickly! I topped it with L.A. Colors "Sparkling Diamonds" from their Color Craze Collection. I love that both of these polishes cost only $1.99!
For the pinky I used  the 2 bottles on the right:  Icing's "Epic Winning" and L.A. Girls Glitter Addict's "Provacative"  I probably used at least 3 coats of each... lost track as I was pretty  engaged in my Pretty Little Liars marathon :)

Before I say goodbye to these, I'm going to try to coat them with a matte finish just to see how it looks. (not much into the matte look yet)
Next up?- Hello Kitty Nails for my niece's birthday party!

Pink!

Sometimes you gotta stop and take stock of what you've got in life, even if it is just a couple hundred nail polishes...
Piles of Pink Polish

Sinful Colors Pink Collection, I thought I'd have more... possibly some hiding in random purses, at the boys house and definitely a few stashed in the car...

Sunday Nails

Dotting Tool where have you been my whole life! I can't believe I went this long without one! *thanks Rebecca*
And yes I know you can make your own- (thanks CutePolish) but it's not exactly the same.
Trying to come up with something fun for that M.A.S.H. design contest.
Not loving this one enough to submit... maybe as a backup- need to use boyfriend's camera and get a semi-good picture! - and use some kind of editing program besides Microsoft Paint- cuz seriously my hand looks weird! hahaha
OK it's Sunday so lets just say I haven't only picked up bottles of polish today, and yes I know it's not even 5:00- close tho, and haven't you heard of Sunday Funday?!
(only I know how many spelling errors I've made trying to write these few short sentences)  My phone usually corrects everything for me, so I'll have to remember to click the spellcheck button...
Also I spent my Saturday night trying to round up all my polishes- that will be my next post-

New Polishes & Design Contest

Oooops I did it again! Well sort of, my boyfriend supports my addiction every once in awhile, usually when he's trying to buy himself something stupid. Instead of vetoing it, I say something like: If you buy that, can I get this? while trying to smile all lovingly at him.
"60% of the time it works everytime" (Anchorman)
 ;)
 So anyways he got these:
Super Creepy Mustache Glasses From The Icing.

And I got these:
"After Party", "Miami Neon", and "Pop A Bottle" From The Icing.

Not exactly a win-win situation but I did score 3 new bottles! Ha!

I can't remember how I came across this page: MASH Design Contest, probably while laying in bed surfing nail blogs and google images a couple weeks ago. I'm really hoping to enter something, any ideas?  Only like 4 days left- luckily I have no job or other real responsibilies...

Mash Nail Art Brushes

I finally made time to play around with my Mash Nail Art Brushes!
I got this brush set for Christmas from my sister, so after 4 months I finally stopped making excuses, and busted em out.

Despite having plenty of time, I only got around to messing with these 2 brushes from the set.
One reason I hadn't made time to practice with them before was because I was scared, I had no idea what all these brushes were even for and more importantly how to clean them, until last week when I found this article on the Mash website's Blog.
Ah Ha!

So you're probably wondering what I came up with right?
Not super proud but it was my first time so here ya go~

I only used the brushes on the thumb, pointer and pinky finger.
I attempted to dry marble 2 colors on the middle finger, not pretty! I used the super tiny dotter from the set to push chunky glitter around on the ring finger, all of these designs are set over Wet n Wild's I Need a Refresh-Mint. Overall I'd say my first experience went pretty well, although I did rush the cleanup of the brushes and they feel a little crunchy today, I'm excited to try again!  You can purchase your own brushes on Mash's Website.

New Polish Review

 Wet n Wild I Need a Refresh-Mint

I love this polish! It isn't a "minty" as it looked in the bottle, but it went on smooth and with only one coat it looks like a creamy sky blue, but with a bright finish. I think I was mislead by the "mint" in it's name, hoping for more of a light blue-ish green-ish color.

I think now maybe they were going for that stick of gum minty blue color...
It was hard to get a good picture, especially with my iPhone camera.
The lighting in my house is terrible so I tried a few different angles outside while walking my dog in partially cloudy skies.

You still can't see it's true color.
Borrowing the boyfriend's camera next time.

Unemployed and Buying Nail Polish...

So yes I do realize that if you have no income, you probably shouldn't be spending money on non essential items, such as nailpolish, but I found a million excuses, some true, some not so true and I felt I deserved a bottle or two... plus they were on sale!- and I have spent so much money at Rite Aid  (mostly on polish) that I recieve 10% off every item with their Wellness+ Card so that was also part of my reasoning. And maybe I found $5.00 when I cleaned out my car yesterday. Ok I didn't, but I did clean out the car, and I can lie to myself if I want to.  I did atleast pay off my orthodontist bill first, (not a lie) so I don't feel that bad about spending $6.00.

The first polish is called "Innocent" by Sinful Colors. I used this name to convince myself that buying a couple of bottles is innocent, atleast I'm not "wasting" money on drugs or something crazy! Right?!

I love anything with glitter in it, and I almost have every Nail Art polish in the Sinful Colors line offered at Rite Aid, so why not complete the collection, and it was only $1.99 (+ I get 10% off) this pink one's called "Wild Night"

The last two are newbies in my collection, they're from Wet n Wild's new Megalast collection. The orange one is called "Club Havana" and the other one is called "I  Need a Refresh-Mint"  I love their "ManiCurve Pro-Brush" which is a chubby short brush that covers my nails in one stroke.
These were both 40% off despite being new! yay.
Ok so I've almost convinced myself that I shouldn't feel guilty about buying these 4 new polishes... Gotta go paint with them now, pictures later :)

I love glitter!
For these sparkly digits I used 5 of my favorite glittery polishes.

Sinful Colors- "I Miss You"
Pop Beauty- "Twenty Nine Twinkle" (which I splurged $12 on)
Icing's- "Epic Winning" (love the name, and glitter density)
Love & Beauty- (can't read the name anymore, pretty sure I got this at Forever 21, damn displays at the register! everytime.)
L.A. Girls- Glitter Addict's "Provocative"
I topped all these layers off with Nutra Nails- High Gloss Top Coat.

It's impossible to capture the sparkliness in a photograph :(
Super pretty in real life, received many compliments,  even one from a boy who percieved these as "stripper nails" (?) hhmmm... thanks... I guess!?

Test Post Awesome

This is totally going to be fun for Anna, even if people call her Annie.
